Providence Student Union

Who We Are We're a non-profit organization with one goal: building student power so that young people can improve their education and well-being. My version of Providence Student Union (PSU) mission state: The mission statement of  Providence Student Union is to build student power that will enable the young people to effectively improve their well-being and education. It seems that (PSU) mission statement serves as both  the mission and vision statement. It is difficult to know what the mission statement is when browsing their website. I had to ask what exactly the mission statement is. The mission statement can easily be explained by others. It is short and simple. However, there are two critiques I have concerning the mission statement. It is difficult to locate and/or figure out and it doesn't say how they are building student power to enable the young people to improve their education and well-being. 

What is a Non-profit?

Nonprofits focus on the growth of the communities and it is mission-driven. They serve communities, address community problems, and build community assets in diverse ways.  The mission drives both the action and the management of the nonprofit. Whatever revenue nonprofit organizations receive, it is geared towards helping the communities and their staff, making sure their mission statement is being met as well. Nonprofit is not a sector that raise fund for individual gain. Whatever funds nonprofit organizations raise, it is used directly for the purpose of the organization Some characteristics of nonprofit are the value of mission statement. Nonprofits are delegated to living by their mission statement. Another characteristic is advocacy. Nonprofits advocate in several ways. It could be for infants, men, women, children, rights, food, and so on.
